Four of her siblings belong to her father's ex-married partners. They moved with the family to Buenos Aires to Victoria, London at the age of six when Taylor-Joy was born. According to Taylor-Joy, this relocation was difficult and she refused to learn English to the hope of moving back to Argentina. Hill House, a school within the same district as Northlands was required to take her. Then she enrolled in Queen's Gate School and studied ballet, while also performing in school's dramas. After she turned 16, she dropped out of school to make a career of acting. From a young age Taylor-Joy knew that she wanted to work as an actress. her dream came true when she was approached for a modeling gig by Sarah Doukas the founder of Storm Management.
